One Year!

A year ago today 99reasonstowin.com went live!, equipped with Issue One of the Mort-racing story Felicity. A year on, Issue Two has popped up and Issue Three isn't too far behind. I want to take this opportunity to thank the small group of readers that continue to inspire and support this young comic as it really begins to take its first big steps this year.

A lot of work goes into the comic and it's made all the easier knowing that there are those of you are enjoying it and sharing the fact with me. The future holds some big ambitious plans for the project and I'm looking forward to being able to share more of that. So here's to the one year anniversary, I'm sure 2010 will be a productive year for the project.

Lastly! A real good look at Felicity, detailing the upgrades obtained between Issue 2 and 3 so have a goosey! I've provided a nice big resolution version which you can find using the link below.

Enjoy Reading Felicity with Upgraded Slickness!

A quick update to highlight firstly, the Flash book upgrades you'll now find available for Issue 1 and 2. Felicity has always been presented in a virtual flip-book and now that experience should be slick to the max. Reading Felicity now includes a Page jump, Page counter, Front and Back cover flips(so you can check out the book just like you would picking it up in a store)and a zoom functionality!

The biggest difference is the pages now load independently rather than altogether so you should find a very fast and smooth reading experience. You'll notice the new toolbar directly beneath the comic, which includes functions such as a page counter at the bottom left, where if you manually type a page number in there and click the arrow right next to it- you can hop instantly to a page. At the moment the comics are still performing on their Lower-Res versions(which were the optimized versions for the previous flashbooks to minimize loading)High Resolution comics with some pampering here and there are to come in the new year.

In stark contrast to flashbooks, the Issue 3 Preview is coming to an end this weekend, and will be totalling at 14 pages. To clarify also, the full Issue will be released upon completion as the regular Flashbook presentation and will total at a much grander 80 pages or so. The preview was simply that, a preview- a taste of what to expect visually and storywise from Issue 3: Parole. For anyone curious about what was revealed in the Preview, the section is all in sequence(no scenes missing in between)and is cut from about 1/5th of the way through the Issue, so you can expect some stuff to be happening before 99 faces D.I Winters in the i interrogation wings.

The presentation will remain a traditional webcomic format until this weekend, afterwhich you'll find those 14 pages presented in the familiar flashbook format along with more information about when the entire Issue will be available. I've had mixed responses to the presentation method involved for the preview with folk meeting in the middle about whelther or not they like a standard webcomic setup for Felicity, if it becomes voiced enough I will be implementing a archived version of all the comics at a later date- I want readers to enjoy reading my stories so if there are some of you who want a more traditional method then I'll want to provide that!

Thanks again for reading and please get in touch if you've any feedback on presentation and your thoughts about it!

It's quite a long way delayed but the preview of Issue 3 launches today!

It's Right here.

If you plan on coming back to check up on the other pages as they come, might want to bookmark that page.

A new page will be added on FRIDAY. And another page next MONDAY. The Preview will then continue every Monday and Friday for the next 20 odd pages. Thanks!

Also, you can find a Youtube video tour of what FELICITY looks like in print below, pretty cunning don'tcha think?  (Youtube down for repair @ time of posting)

Preview of #3 in September!

Quote lifted from my DeviantART Journal-

"Issue 3 will be released alittle differently this time. In about a months time, the first page of Issue 3 will be released, followed by the next 10(or 15, I haven't decided yet)spread out with 2 or 3 pages a week. I'm thinking of it like the preview system alot of films have nowadays where you can watch the first 20 minutes of a movie before it's released. It'll most likely be set up the 'traditional' webcomic way with each page being uploaded to a seperate gallery as it comes and a NEXT and PREV navigation system. The preview will stay live until the launch of the full comic...

...The reason I've chosen to do this is firstly because it's going to ease the gap between the full Issue being released(covering up the time it takes me and easing the pressure alittle) and secondly because it'll (hopefully) give alittle purpose to the website. Thirdly it allows those of you who want to read it to catch the first part of the Issue early and allows those of you who'd rather wait to simply ignore it. As when the Full Issue does arrive, it'll be exactly the same as normal, with the full flash book on the comics page...

...And if you're wondering why it's still going to take a month before the first page is released, it's because I've yet to actually start the comic part of the comic. And to make the whole situation less daunting for me I want to have those 15 preview pages more or less done already by the time I upload the first one, meaning that I keep ahead of the preview at all times, it won't make my workload anyless but it'll help me to know that insome way I'm ahead of my game."

Thanks for all your patience and stayed tuned for the preview and another new feature, aswell as some wallpapers, banners and whatnot. I'm also looking to into a gallery system to make it easier for me to share concepts and sketchwork on the site. I know I'm terrible at updating but I will keep the site posted, alert any of you to new stuff as it comes. Issue three a go-go!
